Water Quality Education Campaigns
For over 10 years, Shafer Consulting has created original outreach and education campaigns for the Science and Environment Council to increase public understanding of water quality issues, including reducing use of fertilizer.

One example of our work is this original series of six “Spread Fun Not Fertilizer” campaign images. The series humorously encourages residents to give their spreaders a summer vacation during the summer fertilizer blackout period. Instead of spreading fertilizer, the campaign challenges residents to dream up bold, fun, and alternative ways to use spreaders during summer months. Images were adapted for distribution on Facebook, in movie theaters, and on large format posters.
